    Introduction

    Compensatory Off, often abbreviated as “comp off,” is a form of paid time off that employees receive in exchange for working additional hours beyond their regular work schedule. It is a mechanism to compensate employees for the extra time or effort they put into their work.

    Compensatory Off Settings in HRMS (Human Resource Management System) refer to the configuration and rules governing the allocation and utilization of compensatory time off (comp time) for employees.

    Field name Description
    Work Done on Weekend Indicates whether work was performed during the weekend. Organizations provide compensatory time off (comp time) to employees who work on weekends to compensate for their additional efforts.
    Work Done on Holiday Indicates whether work was performed during the holiday. Compensatory time off may be provided to employees who work on holidays to acknowledge their sacrifice and maintain workforce availability
    Expiry Days Expiry days refer to the maximum duration for which accrued compensatory time off (comp time) can be retained by an employee before it expires. After this period, unused comp time may be forfeited or reset, depending on the organization’s policies
    Holiday Days Displays number of Holiday days which are specific dates designated as non-working days, either recognized public holidays or company-specific holidays, during which employees are typically entitled to a day off with regular pay.
    Weekend Days Displays number of weekend days. Employees working on weekends may accumulate comp time as a form of recognition for their weekend shifts
    Expiry Type Expiry type in terms of days or months refers to the specific time frame or duration within which a particular policy or benefit, such as accrued leave or compensatory time off, is considered valid before it becomes ineligible or expires.
